We believe that activities are more than just ways of passing time. They should entertain, stimulate and promote a sense of belonging and being part of a family. We encourage active aging amongst our residents both physically and mentally.
By getting to know each resident’s likes and dislikes, we can tailor activities to their particular tastes and cater for the rich cultural mix amongst our residents. For those suffering from dementia, suitable activities can be of great benefit: they can help the individual retain their faculties, preserve their sense of identity, and alleviate the stresses and boredom that can result from the suffering.
Our activities co-ordinator, Kim, puts together a varied year-round programme of events designed to make our residents’ lives more fulfilled and enjoyable. Our activities include physical and mental exercises, crafts and cooking, music therapy and drama amongst others. We also encourage our residents to join us on outings to various attractions around the island.
